Ramallah and Gaza : A high-level delegation headed by Minister of Communications and Information Technology HE Dr. Ishaq Sidr accompanied by a number of general managers visited The Palestinian Information Technology Association of Companies (PITA) at the headquarters of the Union in Ramallah and via video conference with the Union headquarters in Gaza.
The meeting was attended by the new board of directors and the executive staff in the West Bank and Gaza. Dr. Ishaq opened the first session of the new board of directors, congratulating him on his work, pointing out that the union is a key partner in the ministry in leading the sector and its service.
The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Saeed Zaidan, welcomed the Minister and the accompanying delegation and thanked them for the visit and stressed the depth of the strategic relationship between the Ministry and Beta. He also praised the joint cooperation between them to serve the advancement of the technological sector. He also noted the importance of launching initiatives that support the development of the ICT sector, .
The minister also praised the ideas that were put forward in the meeting, stressing the need for such meetings to continue. Both the Ministry and Bita agreed on the necessity of activating the joint committees between the Union and the Ministry, and also to take advantage of the entrepreneurs and encourage the growth of the emerging companies. The sector and its services, highlight the challenges it faces, and highlight the success stories of the local and external communities
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Ishaq praised the experience of the Gaza Strip in the digital fields, despite the restrictions that surround the sector and the siege and the various pressures that the Gazans are living in. He promised to meet with the members of the Council in Gaza to meet with them soon and hear them in detail and to identify the challenges and achievements they achieved. This context will further develop the Palestinian ICT sector.
